Since 2019, Mud Mile has been courtside at the Summit League’s annual basketball tournament to capture every moment on the road to March Madness. We’ve become an essential part of the team, telling and selling stories to get fans excited, boost attendance, and amplify sponsors’ digital exposure.
The Goal: Go Beyond the Broadcast
When we first partnered with the Summit League, they had solid TV coverage for the men’s and women’s basketball tournaments. But we saw an opportunity to go further and reach fans on digital screens too.
We worked closely with the league on ways to engage with fans in real time, convert followers into ticket holders, and create new digital assets for sponsorships.
The Game Plan: Instant Highlights and Insta-Worthy Content
We follow a similar game plan for each Summit League tournament. It looks like this:
- Pre-produce hype videos to build excitement for the tournament
- Create motion graphic templates for social media and sponsorship opportunities
- Post professional highlight videos within minutes of each game’s final buzzer
- Provide all our raw footage to the league, which they can reuse and share with individual teams
Not only do we deliver tons of content before and during the tournament, but we also provide assets the league can use well after the championship celebrations. It’s all part of our Modular Content Strategy, making sure our partners get the most value from their investment.

- Over the past three years, the average reach per post has increased by 48%.
- During the most recent tournament, our videos had 60,094 views on the league’s social media channels.
